Where the schedules come from
Floodlit does not take a feed from one aggregator. It reads the sources directly — league stats APIs where they exist, and otherwise the athletics websites of individual schools, around 1,900 of them. Every source is re-checked nightly, and a game that disappears from its source is removed rather than left to rot.
That is the whole reason the list goes as deep as it does. National sports coverage stops at the leagues worth televising; a Division III volleyball match or a junior college baseball double-header is only ever published on the school’s own site, so that is where we go and get it.

What it doesn’t cover
Being straight about the gaps is more useful than implying there are none:
- Sport seasons. Most of the catalogue is out of season at any given moment. A team with nothing listed is usually between seasons rather than missing — right now 6,041 teams have no upcoming game on file.
- High school. Not covered at all. The data is fragmented across state associations and mostly not machine-readable.
- Schools with no published feed. A few dozen run custom sites that publish schedules as images or inside a login. Those are gaps we know about and cannot fix from the outside.
- Ticket prices. We link to sellers where a link exists; we do not price or sell anything.
If something is wrong
Schedules move, and sources publish placeholders. If a game is listed at the wrong time or venue, or your team is missing entirely, the feedback form on the home page reaches us directly and is read. A wrong listing is usually a wrong source, and knowing which one is what lets us fix it.
Before travelling to a game, confirm with the team or venue — see the Terms of Use.
